My First Posting

   Hello All!  My name is Jodi Evans and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Bertha Barber Elementary in Bellevue, NE.  I attend Peru State College to get my Early Childhood/Elementary Education teaching degree.  I received my first Master's from Doane College in Curriculum and Instruction and my second Master's from Peru State also in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Technology.
    I started my teaching career in a Class 1 school district in Richland, NE where I taught Kindergarten, Preschool and 1st-3rd grade computer classes.  I also was the PE teacher for a time.  After two years, I moved back to my hometown of Lincoln, NE where I substitute taught for a year.  I was then hired on by Bellevue Public Schools in Bellevue, NE to teach Kindergarten.  I will be starting my 9th year at Bertha Barber this fall.
    I am a PC person but have worked with both throughout my learnings.  If my brother had his say, he would have me working on a Mac.  I feel that there are pros and cons about both.  I have worked more with a PC and able to navigate information more.
    In my classroom, I don't use a lot of technology because of some of the limitations that I have.  I use my iPod to share music and some learning games.  I have worked with our new Math curriculum internet connection to teach lessons. I'm looking forward to having my own rover cart in the classroom so I can utilize technology more.  Something new I want to try this coming year are Calendar binders.  Having an interactive calendar for the students to use. We will have to see how it works!
